Our Story
Kind to Kids Foundation was created so children and youth in foster care would never have to face their hardest moments alone. Too often, children enter care with little notice, carrying the weight of instability, school interruption, and uncertainty about what comes next. We built Kind to Kids to make sure they are met with steady support, caring adults, and the tools they need to succeed.
The foundation began in 2008, inspired by founder Caroline Jones's service as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. What started as a personal commitment to show children they mattered grew into a statewide mission. Kind to Kids became a registered 501(c)(3) in 2011, and since then, we have served more than 18,000 children in Delaware.
Today, Kind to Kids partners with schools, caregivers, and community agencies to make sure children have the guidance and stability they deserve. Our programs reach children from their first day in care through high school graduation and beyond.
What We Do
Education Support
UGrad Academy provides daily academic advocacy, tutoring coordination, and guidance so children can succeed in school and prepare for life after high school.
Comfort and Essentials
Through My Blue Duffel and other support programs, children entering foster care receive comforting essentials that help them feel seen, cared for, and less alone.
Guidance and Life Skills
Our Support Services help children and youth navigate school, home, and major transitions with steady guidance from caring adults.
